Basketball Recap: Rio Mesa's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Rio Mesa lost against Dos Pueblos back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rio Mesa Spartans took a hard 50-33 fall against the Dos Pueblos Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 461st, while the Chargers are ranked 154th).

When it comes to explaining why Rio Mesa lost, don't look at Sofia Mora. Despite the final result, she posted eight points and 12 rebounds.

The loss snapped Rio Mesa's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-13 record. As for Dos Pueblos, the win got them back to even at 11-11.

Rio Mesa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 70-26 defeat against Buena on the 28th. As for Dos Pueblos, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-37 victory against Santa Barbara on the 28th.
