Softball Recap: Plattsburg Takes a Loss

If Plattsburg was riding high fresh off their 16-2 takedown of Stewartsville on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers lost 8-2 to the West Platte Bluejays on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled against the Bluejays recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Plattsburg saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophie Schmitten, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Schmitten is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Plattsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for West Platte, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Plattsburg will head out to challenge Lathrop at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Platte, they will venture away from home to take on Mid-Buchanan at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
