Softball Game Preview: Sylva Bay Academy Saints vs. Meridian HomeSchool FLYERS

The Sylva Bay Academy Saints will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against the Meridian HomeSchool FLYERS at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Sylva Bay Academy is leaving town to face Meridian HomeSchool after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Saints fell just short of the FLYERS by a score of 7-6 on Monday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

For Meridian HomeSchool's part, Ragen Tapley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 14 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jaedin Sharkey, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with seven stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kirklynn Roberts, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
