Crosby and Porter are an even 3-3 against one another  since October of 2015, but  not for long. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spartans  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Crosby is probably headed into the  matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering La Porte just ended the team's  four-game winning streak  on Friday. They took  a  28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The  contest was a  14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Cougars couldn't quite close it out.
 Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from  T-Zion Sutherland, who rushed for 79 yards and one  TD, and also caught one  touchdown. Another player making a difference was  Luke Wheeler, who picked up 102 receiving yards and one  score.
Meanwhile, Porter came up short against Friendswood on Friday and fell  27-14. The Spartans gained 89 more yards on the day, but it was the Mustangs that made the best use of them.
 Crosby will have to contain  Landon Binford as he made an impact in Porter's last game. He picked up 98 receiving yards and one  touchdown, and also rushed for 56 yards and one  TD.
 Crosby's  defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-4. As for Porter, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-4.
 Crosby took their  victory against Porter  when the teams last played  back in November of 2024 by a conclusive  49-26 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success,  or do  the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
