Recap: Taft Wildcats vs. Templeton Eagles
The Taft Wildcats were the 46-27 winner over the Templeton Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Taft might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Templeton an easy 53-31 win. Taft just can't catch a break and has now endured four defeats in a row.
Despite the loss, Taft saw an underclassman step up: Alaysia Taylor scored 11 points along with nine rebounds. Shelby Gregory was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Taft's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Templeton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Taft is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Stockdale at 10:00 a.m. on December 27th. Stockdale comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Templeton will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pioneer Valley at 6:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
