Basketball Recap: Fannett Metal Comes Up Short

Fannett Metal was the 35-33 winner over Claysburg-Kimmel when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Fannett Metal fell 56-47 to the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs on Monday. Fannett Metal has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Claysburg-Kimmel found their leader in sophomore Zailee Bush, who posted 28 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Bush is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bella Francona, who put up nine points along with eight assists and eight boards.

Fannett Metal's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fannett Metal will square off against Southern Fulton at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they will face off against Northern Bedford County at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Claysburg-Kimmel is facing Northern Bedford County at the right time seeing as Northern Bedford County is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
