Preview: North Star Cougars vs. Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs
North Star has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th.
On Tuesday, North Star suffered a tough 55-32 loss at the hands of Allegany.
Abby Barnick put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 21 points along with three steals. She scored a full 65.6% of North Star's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Claysburg-Kimmel scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Mount Union 53-33. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Claysburg-Kimmel has managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Claysburg-Kimmel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bella Francona, who scored 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for Francona. Zailee Bush was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
North Star bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
