Softball Recap: Standing Bear Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pius X, Standing Bear was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Adams Central Patriots, sneaking past 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Grizzlies have posted since September 2nd.

Standing Bear let Hadley Froeschl and Lily Hansmeier run wild. Froeschl got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Hansmeier went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those two doubles gave Froeschl a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryann Dailey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Standing Bear always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Standing Bear's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Adams Central, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.

Standing Bear has already played their next matchup, an 11-5 defeat against Grand Island on the 20th. As for Adams Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-3 win against McCook on the 20th.
