Recap: NOVA Academy Eagles vs. Samueli Academy Firewolves        
        
		
            
 On Friday, it was a hard-fought  matchup, but NOVA Academy had to settle for a  41-39 defeat against Samueli Academy. NOVA Academy has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 When it comes to explaining why NOVA Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Valerie Lopez. Despite the final result, she  scored 21 points. Lopez scored a full 53.8% of NOVA Academy's points, the third time in a row she's  earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Isabella Torres, who  scored 10 points.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Samueli Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Genavivie  Medrano, who  scored 14 points. The  match was  Medrano's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was  Kennedy  Cortez, who  scored 10 points.
 NOVA Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Samueli Academy, they now  have a winning record of 3-2.
 NOVA Academy will head out on the road to face off against Newport Christian at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Samueli Academy, they will be playing at home against Southlands Christian at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Southlands Christian's defense has only allowed 16.8  points per game this season, so Samueli Academy's offense will have their work cut out for Samueli Academy.
