Basketball Game Preview: Magnolia West Mustangs vs. Tomball Cougars

The Magnolia West Mustangs will square off against the Tomball Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Magnolia West is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

On Friday, Magnolia West lost to Klein Collins on the road by a 54-35 margin. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 838th, while the Tigers are ranked 108th).

Meanwhile, Tomball unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to Klein Collins 53-47.

Magnolia West will have to contain Kylee Symons as she made an impact in Tomball's last game. She went 7 for 12 on her way to 19 points and seven rebounds. Karen Gomez was another key player, putting up six points.

Even though they lost, Tomball smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Magnolia West's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Tomball, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-6.
