Rutland is a perfect 3-0 against Wilkinson County since March of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Rutland Hurricanes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wilkinson County Warriors at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Rutland has three straight wins, Wilkinson County has 13 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, Rutland beat Wilkinson County 6-2.

Tate Summerday made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Kaelik Marcus was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Kendarious Gilbert was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

Rutland's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Wilkinson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
