Hill City had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42.8 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They never let the Stockton Tigers get on the board and left with a 78-0 win. Given the Ringnecks' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Tigers are ranked 82nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hill City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Slade Rohr, who rushed for 47 yards and one TD, and also picked up 38 receiving yards and one touchdown. Tate Balthazor was another key player, rushing for 32 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hill City was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 325 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in 12 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Hill City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Balthazor led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by himself. Rohr got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Hill City's record is now 6-1. As for Stockton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Hill City will host Decatur Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stockton, they will challenge St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' defense better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 31 points per game this season.
