Baseball Recap: Morrow Has No Trouble Against Banneker

Morrow had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Banneker on Wednesday. Everything went the Morrow Mustangs' way against the Banneker Trojans as the Morrow Mustangs made off with a 12-2 win.

Malachi Mingo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). He is becoming a predictor of Morrow's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 6-8 when he doesn't). Mingo was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zoran Galloway, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Morrow is 5-2 when Galloway posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-7 otherwise. Ronald Wood was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Morrow kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Morrow's record now sits at 8-9. As for Banneker, they dropped their record down to 4-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
