Baseball Game Preview: Lutheran Crusaders vs. Oregon Hawks

The Lutheran Crusaders are taking a road trip to take on the Oregon Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lutheran will be strutting in after a win while Oregon will be coming in after a loss.

While Lutheran's victory against Genoa-Kingston wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Crusaders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Cogs on Tuesday. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Cogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Owen Anderson was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted over his last four contests. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-6 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Lutheran kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Oregon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They fell 13-10 to Rockford Christian.

Lutheran's record now sits at 5-12. As for Oregon, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13-1.

Lutheran couldn't quite get it done against Oregon when the teams last played back in May of 2025 as they fell 8-3. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
