Baseball Recap: Manawa Takes a Loss

Manawa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bonduel Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-2 back in April.

Reed Schlueter was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. He also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season. Carson Stroud was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Manawa's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Bonduel, their record now sits at 16-5.

Looking ahead, Manawa will head out on the road to challenge Iola-Scandinavia at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bonduel, they will welcome Amherst at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
