Baseball Game Preview: Trinity Christian Crusaders vs. Edmund Burke Academy Spartans

The Trinity Christian Crusaders will head out to challenge the Edmund Burke Academy Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Edmund Burke Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Monday just wasn't the day for Trinity Christian's offense. They lost 15-0 to Citizens Christian Academy on Monday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Crusaders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Edmund Burke Academy entered their tilt with Briarwood Academy on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Buccaneers with a sharp 16-5 win. Considering the Spartans have won 12 games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Edmund Burke Academy pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-5.

Trinity Christian came up short against Edmund Burke Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 5-0. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
