Basketball Game Preview: Rancho Dominguez Lobos vs. San Pedro Pirates

Rancho Dominguez is 0-9 against San Pedro since January of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Rancho Dominguez Lobos will head out on the road to challenge the San Pedro Pirates at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Rancho Dominguez is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Friday. They were outmatched by Banning and fell 65-7. The Lobos were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-4.

Meanwhile, San Pedro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-40 heartbreaker at the hands of Narbonne. While the Pirates didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Gauchos 15-10 in the first quarter.

Rancho Dominguez will need focus on slowing down Jayda Sanford, one of several San Pedro players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Adrid, who scored 13 points.

Rancho Dominguez's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for San Pedro, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

Rancho Dominguez took a serious blow against San Pedro when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 81-21. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Rancho Dominguez was down 43-9.
