Soccer Recap: Grand Valley Comes Up Short

Grand Valley came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Rootstown Rovers, falling 4-1. If Grand Valley were looking for revenge after losing 5-4 to Rootstown when the teams met back in September of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Grand Valley's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Rootstown, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4-1 record this season.

Grand Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rootstown, they will take on Kirtland in a tournament on Saturday. Rootstown's defense better be ready for this one: Kirtland have averaged an impressive 2.6 goals per game this season.
