Basketball Recap: Canoga Park Takes a Loss

Canoga Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Sylmar Spartans 58-7. The Hunters were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-3.

Leading Sylmar to victory were Yaneli Zuniga-Hernandez and Isabella Gonzalez. Zuniga-Hernandez posted 21 points, while Gonzalez earned 24 points. Andrea Parra was another key player, putting up three points.

Canoga Park's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Sylmar, they moved to 3-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canoga Park will face off against Van Nuys at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Van Nuys will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Canoga Park surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sylmar, they will square off against Reseda at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
