Lawrence had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-5 to make it five. They took a 28-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shawnee Mission East Lancers. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lancers from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tahj Edwards, who rushed for 110 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Dooley, who rushed for 40 yards and one score.
