Preview: Meadowbrook Christian vs. Montgomery Red Raiders
Having just played yesterday, Meadowbrook Christian will head out on the road to face off against the Montgomery Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on December 29th. Meadowbrook Christian is looking to tack on another W to their 13-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
On Thursday, Meadowbrook Christian had just enough and edged Milton out 42-39. Given Meadowbrook Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Milton is ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kailey Devlin was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with six assists and four steals. The contest was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. Alayna Smith was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Montgomery had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Midd-West by a score of 49-37 on Thursday. The win was just what Montgomery needed coming off of a 67-34 loss in their prior matchup.
Meadowbrook Christian's record now sits at 7-0. Montgomery's record now sits at 3-5.
Meadowbrook Christian came up short against Montgomery when the teams last played back in January of 2021, falling 32-25. Thankfully for Meadowbrook Christian, Shelby Mcrae (who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
