Baseball Game Preview: Randolph-Clay Red Devils vs. Seminole County Indians

Randolph-Clay hasn't had much luck against Seminole County recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Randolph-Clay Red Devils will look to defend their home field against the Seminole County Indians at 4:00 p.m.

Friday just wasn't the day for Randolph-Clay's offense. They lost 20-0 to Early County on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 24 runs in the game before, the Red Devils' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Seminole County's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They never let Pelham get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering the Indians have won three contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brennan McGowan made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Brayden Hodges was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. John Walker was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Seminole County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Randolph-Clay, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
