Baseball Recap: Northwest Whitfield Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Northwest Whitfield can now relate to. They fell just short of the Cherokee Bluff Bears by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-4 on Thursday.

Northwest Whitfield dropped their record down to 19-15 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 3.5 runs. As for Cherokee Bluff, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 23-11.

While Northwest Whitfield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
