Recap: Central Catholic Raiders vs. Sierra Timberwolves

The Central Catholic Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They took a hard 61-43 fall against Sierra. Central Catholic has not had much luck with Sierra recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Central Catholic lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Samantha Nichols, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Abbate, who scored eight points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sierra to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emma Gilmore, who scored 20 points along with two steals. Gilmore is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mya Everett, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.

Central Catholic's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Sierra, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.

Central Catholic will be playing in front of their home fans against East Union at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. East Union is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54 points per game this season. As for Sierra, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Kimball at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. Hopefully Kimball focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
