The Northfield Nighthawks will take on the Rangeview Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northfield knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Rangeview likes a good challenge.
Northfield came out on top against Fairview on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run third inning. The Nighthawks blew past the Knights 14-4. Considering the Nighthawks have won 15 contests by more than eight runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Audrina Srichabok, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Ricki Ramirez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Northfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairview only posted an OBP of .444.
Meanwhile, Rangeview lost 17-5 to Denver East on Friday.
Diana Esquivel made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jimena Vasquez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Northfield is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for Rangeview, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16-1 record this season.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Northfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .414. However, it's not like Rangeview struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Northfield took their win against Rangeview when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 11-0 score. Will the Nighthawks repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
