Softball Recap: Oak Hill Academy Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Oak Hill Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Winona Christian Stars 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Raiders, who have now won six games in a row.

Kaelyn Pennington made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over eight innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting three hits from her three at bats. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September of 2024.

Pennington wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ella Margaret Gable, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Gable a new career-high.

Oak Hill Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

They will have a chance to go back-to-back against Winona Christian: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
