Otay Ranch won the last time they faced Chula Vista and things went their way on Friday too. The Otay Ranch Mustangs blew past the Chula Vista Spartans 63-27. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 26 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Mackenzie Daffron, who posted nine points in addition to eight steals and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Maleah Porch, who put up eight points and six steals.

Daffron wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Otay Ranch was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Chula Vista lost, don't look at Nancy Chavez. Despite the final result, she earned eight points along with 11 boards and three blocks. Chavez has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last four times she's played.

Otay Ranch's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.7 points over those games. As for Chula Vista, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

Otay Ranch wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-21 win against Fallbrook on the 1st. As for Chula Vista, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-23 defeat against Mt. Carmel on the 1st.
