Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Nordhoff walked away with it. They snuck past the Costa Mesa Mustangs with a 46-41 win on Wednesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Rangers, who have now won eight matchups in a row.

It was another big night for Cadence Renshaw, who made all 8 shots she took for 20 points. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 14 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jacaranda Shepard, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards.

Nordhoff smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Costa Mesa still got an impressive performance from Leilani Quero, who posted 24 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Quero has become a key player for Costa Mesa: the team is 2-1 when she posts at least eight boards, but 12-14 otherwise. Emi Kamikihara was another key player, putting up eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Nordhoff's win bumped their record up to 18-7. As for Costa Mesa, they now have a losing record of 14-15.

Nordhoff will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hillcrest at 7:00 p.m. on March 22nd. Hillcrest will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Nordhoff surely won't give up without a fight. Costa Mesa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
