Baseball Recap: Liberty County Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against First Coast, Liberty County was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tattnall County Warriors, sneaking past 6-4. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Caden Chancey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Glemon English was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Liberty County is undefeated when English posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Landon Usher was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Liberty County's record is now 5-2. As for Tattnall County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Tattnall County beat Liberty County by a score of 3-0 later that day.
