Baseball Recap: Crisp Academy Wildcats vs. Westwood Wildcats
Crisp Academy had lost six straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 4-11 to make it seven. They came up short against Westwood, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against Westwood this season, with their most recent loss being a 15-0 defeat on Tuesday.
As for Westwood, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.
For Westwood's part, not much got past Cade Swilley, who gave up just four hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Crisp Academy off the board. Swilley also tossed a walk, which is notable because Westwood is 5-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-4 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Sam Summerlin was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
