Northside had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Griffin on Thursday. The Patriots blew past the Bears 7-0. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Northside's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Griffin, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Northside will square off against rival Starr's Mill at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 2.7, the Panthers 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Griffin is set to take on their familiar foe Jonesboro at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
