Recap: Norte Vista Braves vs. Ramona Rams
After a string of four wins, the Norte Vista Braves's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They suffered a rough 62-40 defeat at the hands of Ramona. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Norte Vista has suffered against Ramona since January 28, 2020.
Despite the loss, Norte Vista still got an impressive performance from Hope Brookins, who scored 24 points. That was a full 60% of Norte Vista's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Ramona got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Olivia Molina out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Molina continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Athena Berber, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Norte Vista's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-10. As for Ramona, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norte Vista will take on Hillcrest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ramona, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Patriot at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Patriot focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 last Tuesday.
