Basketball Recap: Escondido Takes a Loss

Escondido was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 44-33 to the Sage Creek Bobcats. The Cougars were probably out for revenge after losing 60-44 to them when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Escondido lost, don't look at Anaya McGlory. Despite the final result, she shot 4-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. McGlory is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mia Diaz, who posted seven points and seven steals.

Escondido's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Sage Creek, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4.

Escondido wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-22 loss against Escondido Charter on the 20th. As for Sage Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 43-30 victory against Mission Vista on the 17th.
