Basketball Recap: Major Leak Key Part of a Team Effort in Knights Win

Lake Norman Charter's and Carson's game on Friday was close at halftime, but Lake Norman Charter turned on the heat in the second half with 44 points. The Lake Norman Charter Knights blew past the Carson Cougars 74-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Knights have posted against the Cougars since December 10, 2021.

Lake Norman Charter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Major Leak, who went 8 for 11 on his way to 19 points along with five assists and four steals. Leak is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin McConneyhead, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 assists.

Leak wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Lake Norman Charter was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Lake Norman Charter pushed their record up to 5-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for Carson, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.
