Even with so many question marks surrounding the 2020 high school football season in California, it's never too early to look at the Golden State's best.

Mater Dei (Santa Ana) and St. John Bosco (Bellflower) begin the year ranked Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, and combined for 17 of the 54 spots on the preseason All-State team.

Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth), well-known for what it does on the basketball court, also has become one of the top football programs in California. They have the third-most selections with four.

Centennial (Corona) and Servite (Anaheim) were the only other schools with at least three selections. The Huskies begin the year ranked at No. 15 and the Friars check in at No. 23.

In total, 28 schools are represented with the Monarchs leading the way nine selections.
