In this week's power rankings, we saw one team go soaring up and another team come crashing down, along with everything in between. That and more in this week's report.
Movin on Up
Pierz has been an offensive powerhouse for five straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. The final score between it and Rockford was a 66 - 0 blowout in Pierz's favor. Pierz's margin of victory (66 points) marked the biggest win the team has had all season. Its success was rewarded with a 15-spot boost in the power rankings, the biggest improvement of any team.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Minnetonka (16th in the power rankings) and Eden Prairie (2nd). Minnetonka was close but not close enough as it fell 28 - 26 to Burnsville. It wasn't all bad, though, since the team's performance bumped it up two places in the power rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Prior Lake (15th in the MaxPreps state rankings) and Eastview (26th). The last time they met, Prior Lake took down Buffalo 27 - 7. Can Prior Lake repeat its success? We'll find out this Friday.
