Volleyball Game Preview: Wells Leopards vs. Lund Mustangs

The Wells Leopards will square off against the Lund Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Wells: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Lund has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

Wells hadn't beaten McDermitt on the road since November 5, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Leopards came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs, sneaking past 3-2.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (103-96) Wells actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 13-25, 25-21, 25-20, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Lund hadn't done well against Owyhee recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Mustangs came out on top against the Braves by a score of 3-1.

Lund had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-21.

Wells' win bumped their record up to 6-17. As for Lund, their victory bumped their record up to 19-9.
