Football Recap: Strong Effort on D from Isaiah Channell and Corey Grant Leads Shawnee Mission South over Shawnee Mission West + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gardner-Edgerton, Shawnee Mission South was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Shawnee Mission West Vikings by a score of 30-17. The Raiders have beaten the Vikings the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Vikings has come to flipping the script.

Shawnee Mission South didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Isaiah Channell and Corey Grant. Grant also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven. Another thorn in Shawnee Mission West's side was Rowan Minnick, who made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended one pass.

Shawnee Mission South's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-2. As for Shawnee Mission West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
