Basketball Recap: Calipatria Takes a Loss

Calipatria faced off against Palo Verde Valley. in a bug-themed battle on Tuesday. The Calipatria Hornets took a blow against the Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets, falling 64-10. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Yellow Jackets recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Palo Verde Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reagan McCarthy, who went 8 for 12 on her way to 18 points. McCarthy continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaslene Crow, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 18 points.

Calipatria's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Palo Verde Valley, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-4 record.

Calipatria will challenge Southwest EC at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Palo Verde Valley, they will square off against Brawley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
