Soccer Game Preview: Canoga Park vs. Kennedy

The Canoga Park Hunters will face off against the Kennedy Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Canoga Park comes in on five and Kennedy on six.

Canoga Park's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They won by a goal and slipped past Van Nuys 1-0. That's two games straight that the Hunters have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Kennedy took on San Fernando on Friday. Kennedy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over San Fernando. Give the Cougars' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Leileen Morales, who's now up to two this season.

Kennedy's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those five games. As for Canoga Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-1-2 record this season.

Canoga Park suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Kennedy in their previous meeting back in January. Can Canoga Park avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
