Basketball Recap: Valley Lutheran Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Valley Lutheran couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 55-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of The Gregory School Hawks on Friday. It was the first time this season that the Flames let down their fans at home.

Ben Head was his usual excellent self, en route to 19 points for The Gregory School. Devin Dawson was another key player, on his way to 13 points and five boards.

Valley Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 20-4. As for The Gregory School, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season.

Valley Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for The Gregory School, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-51 victory against Fort Thomas on the 22nd.
