Softball Recap: Pierce County Takes a Loss

If Pierce County was riding high fresh off their 11-3 takedown of Metter on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bears lost 11-1 to the Appling County Pirates on Thursday. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Pierce County's loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Appling County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pierce County will host Bacon County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Appling County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Toombs County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
