Basketball Recap: Independence Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Independence and Sanger squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Independence had to settle for second. They fell to the Sanger Apaches 58-53. The Falcons just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Independence lost, don't look at Kenadi Walton. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 26 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Walton a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Ka'Rayah Robertson, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Independence now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Sanger, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-13 record this season.

Independence does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sanger, they will take on Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Sanger surely won't give up without a fight.
