Basketball Recap: Wood Triumphs

Wood won the last time they faced Weston Ranch, and Mikyah Dixon did her part to make sure it happened again. Everything went the Wood Wildcats' way against the Weston Ranch Cougars on Friday as the Wood Wildcats made off with a 57-34 win thanks in part to Dixon, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Melania Condez was another key player, putting up six points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (three).

The victory got Wood back to even at 6-6. As for Weston Ranch, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Wood will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against River City at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025. As for Weston Ranch, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Weston Ranch Cougars take on the Ben Holt College Prep Academy Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th.
