Basketball Recap: Patagonia Lobos vs. Ray Bearcats
After flying high against Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind last Wednesday, Patagonia came back down to earth. The Patagonia Lobos took a 69-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ray Bearcats on Saturday. The Lobos have struggled against the Bearcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Ray got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chris Curiel out in front who went 6 of 12 en route to 17 points and five steals. Curiel is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chase Chester, who posted 20 points and six rebounds.
Patagonia's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10. As for Ray, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
Patagonia will host Tombstone at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Tombstone knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Patagonia likes a good challenge. As for Ray, they are taking a road trip to face off against Fort Thomas at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ray is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.5 points per game this season.
