Wasco took a 21-point defeat the last time they faced off against Kennedy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, the Tigers made off with a 55-54 win over the Thunderbirds. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Wasco's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hammie Lopez led the charge by rushing for 142 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also picking up 39 receiving yards. Lopez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Wasco also got a significant boost from Jayven Hernandez, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.

Despite the loss, Kennedy still got an impressive performance from Jace Demacabalin, who rushed for 367 yards and six scores while picking up 14.1 yards per carry. Thanks to that big game, Demacabalin is now up to 17 rushing touchdowns on the season. Jamison Membreve was another key player, rushing for 78 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries.

Wasco's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Kennedy, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.

Wasco wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 56-0 win against Taft on the 16th. As for Kennedy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-35 defeat against Shafter on the 17th.
