Softball Recap: Southeast Polk Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Southeast Polk and Pleasant Valley squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Southeast Polk had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 11-9. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 9-5.

This is the second loss in a row for Southeast Polk and nudges their season record down to 30-12. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Pleasant Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Southeast Polk nor Pleasant Valley have any future games scheduled.
