Soccer Recap: Newbury Park Comes Up Short

After soaring to four goals the game before, Newbury Park was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost 3-0 to the Oaks Christian Lions. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 180th, while the Lions are ranked second).

Newbury Park's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4-2. As for Oaks Christian, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-0-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Oaks Christian beat Newbury Park by a score of 3-0 on Monday.
