Softball Recap: Chillicothe Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

There's no place like home for Chillicothe, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past the Moberly Spartans 16-2 on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Hornets needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Chillicothe has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for Moberly, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Chillicothe is taking a road trip to square off against Maryville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Moberly, they will host Mexico at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
