If Lufkin was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Jacksonville on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell just short of the Texas Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Lufkin took Texas into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-19, 25-23, 22-25, 15-10.

Sydney Woods was the offensive standout of the match as she had 20 digs and one assist. Zanasia Nelson also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Lufkin's loss dropped their record down to 28-8. As for Texas, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-15.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lufkin is set to take on their familiar foe Whitehouse at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Texas will face off against rival Tyler at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
